Sound the Alarm

Every day, seven people die in home fires, most in homes that lack working smoke alarms. The Red Cross is hosting a free smoke alarm install event in Hampton Roads called, Sound the Alarm. It will take place in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Newport News. We need your help! Please volunteer at www.soundthealarm.org. No experience required, all volunteers will be trained by Red Crossers. After training, they will be organized into teams of 3 and given an area to walk through. Each team will be install the detector, talk about an escape plan with the homeowner and fill out a little bit of paperwork. Lunch will be provided This is
